Spain really RULES at $11, yet again

March 06, 2010

Snagged this at Antonelli's Cheese Emporium today. Just looked interesting. MCS'J Verasol Jumilla Monastrell 2008.

A dark, black raisiny nose. Medium, elegant palate, with more dark black raisin fruit, silky  mouthfeel, nice crisp, slightly green acids. Not the most complex wine, not too simple, just nice, easy and tasty. It was a little much at first, but MUCH better after half an hour open.

A great choice for $11 that would pair with virtually anything you would want to pair with red, short of wild boar, venison or something hugely gamey. Otherwise. This works.

Drink This WINE!

Cheers,
