Rob Moshein - The Austin Wine Guy

Another good suggestion from the Wine Merchant

February 05, 2010

So popped in to see John again for this weekend's suggestions for weekend blog wines. 2 for under $30, got 2 for $25....Mom home from hospital. No answers, but she feels good. Huge relief. Long busy day, again. Glad not to be challenged too much...

John insisted on Colosi Nero d'Avola 2008, Sicilia.  Nose of dense raisin, figgy, rich.  Nice. Similar palate. Raisin, figgy palate with white pepper and a touch of spice.  An easy drink, went perfect with pasta in meat sauce. Challenging? No. Pleasant? Yes. Mediium body makes it nice with the pasta, and easy to sip on watching "Kitchen Nightmares".

$11 makes it a good value. Well done John.

Drink this wine!

Cheers,

Rob Moshein, Austin Wine Guy
