More cool grocery stuff that works for $10

March 07, 2010

Another cool find in the store. Castillo de Monseran Garnacha, Carinena 2007, only $10. Rich slightly raisin nose, dark red fruits, Vanilla, blueberry. All things considered, pretty cool for the price. The palate is mid weight, more dark red fruits, slight raisin tones, a bright copper acid mid palate, a tarry long finish, with more copper acids. This works well with food. I really enjoyed it with curry marinated, grilled steak served with pita pockets, fets (barrel aged sheep milk courtesy of the AMAZING Antonelli's cheese shop) and an yogurt sauce with garlic, ginger, cucumber, lemon juice, salt and pepper.

A great find for the price. Not perfect, but worth every penny.

Drink This Wine!

Cheers,

Rob Moshein, Austin Wine Guy
